American Heart Association's "Young at Heart" Event
09/21/2010 - By Philadelphia, PA

American Heart Association's "Young at Heart" Event

Co-Chairs, Maria Papadakis and Sophia Stogiannis, encouraged the city’s brightest young business leaders to get involved in the mission of the American Heart Association at their first fall event, "Meet Us at The Falls."

Sponsored by Ernst and Young and Exelon Corporation, the networking event and benefit demonstrated the effect young leaders can have on their peers and urged them to lead the charge in recruiting young volunteers for the AHA.

Participants also heard the story of Mark Peters, a young man who suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest last year at the age of 23 and whose life was saved because of the research of the organization.

Over 90 people showed their support by flocking to the patio of the Waterworks Restaurant and Lounge near Philly's famous Boathouse Row. Proceeds from this event benefitted the Heart Association's cardiovascular disease and stroke research.
