53RD ANNUAL AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY GALA CELEBRATES LIVING
02/04/2011 - By Palm Beach, FL

More than 500 guests gathered at The Mar-a-Lago Club on Friday, February 4, 2011, to celebrate the American Cancer Society's 53rd Annual Gala on Palm Beach.

“White Out Cancer … Celebrate Living,” they were treated to a very special evening filled with many surprises.

“The Dolphinettes,” a troupe of synchronized swimmers, kicked off the poolside reception while the “Rum and Coffee Band,” direct from Miami, continued the South Beach vibe with music and dancers to entertain the crowd. As guests entered the all-white ballroom they were greeted by Brazilian dancers and drummers who irresistibly inspired the guests to join them on the dance floor. The festivities continued late into the evening, with entertainment provided by the Sultans of Swing.

Executing the details of the South Beach-inspired evening were Chairmen Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Trump; Dame Celia Lipton Farris, Honorary Chairwoman and Chairman Emeritus; along with Patty Myura, Patrick Park and Nathalie Fernandez as Honorary Chairmen.

For more information on the American Cancer Society, please contact Victoria Peyton, Senior Executive Director at the American Cancer Society, Island of Palm Beach Unit, (561) 655-3449 or victoria.peyton@cancer.org.
